 The State Science and Technology Awards Conference was grandly held in Beijing on the morning of January 9, 2017. CPC parties and state leaders including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, and Senior Officials Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli attended the conference and presented awards to winners.
The ¡°out-of-tube falling film liquid-phase tackifying reactor and melt direct-spinning technical polyester industrial yarn¡± project developed by Hutiong Technology in cooperation with Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and Zhejiang Guxiandao Industrial Fiber Co., Ltd won the second prize of State Technological and Invention Award.
This project breaks through major technical problems that existed in the preparation of high viscosity polyester melt by means of melt condensation polymerization in the polymer field and presents a new highly-efficient, energy-saving melt-direct-spinning-based technical polyester yarn technology in response to drawbacks of existing chip-spinning-based technical polyester yarn technology, the latter of which is notoriously known for long manufacturing process, large investment in equipment, and high energy consumption. The project has developed a new polyester liquid-phase tackifying method characterized by ¡°falling film on vertical tubes¡±, invented a kind of packaged polymerization equipment, and achieved the preparation of technical grade high-viscosity polyester melt directly through melt condensation polymerization. It has created a short-process flexible technical polyester yarn production line, tackled the problem of increased intrinsic viscosity during the handling of high-viscosity melt through pipelines, and solved the contradiction between the size effect of large polyester volume and the market demand for diversified polyester yarns. The high-viscosity melt high-flux intensive spinning technology it developed has greatly improved the spinning efficiency, and the high-strength, high-modulus technical polyester yarns developed for deep-ocean anchoring have produced a significant economic and social benefit. This project has achieved the international advanced level and is an original technological breakthrough in the polyester field. 
Centering on the innovative melt condensation polymerization method, we developed the core equipment and the whole-process technology, and successfully achieved the manufacture of technical polyester yarns in a highly-efficient, energy-saving, short-process, and flexible manner. This award is a great affirmation and recognition of our innovation capability and leading position in the technical polyester yarn field, and will definitely help to make the company the world¡¯s largest polyester fiber manufacturing base.
